Netta Kandelin invites you to pause with glass and plants at Habitare 2024

Fresh and innovative Finnish design will take center stage at Habitare 2024, as young designer Netta Kandelin showcases a unique collection of her self-designed and crafted glass and design products. Visitors to Kandelin’s booth will experience a dialogue between craftsmanship and technology and enjoy the harmony between design and plants.

Netta Kandelin is known for her practical and beautiful everyday objects, blending clever details with classic aesthetics in her work. At Habitare, her booth will feature glassworks that incorporate various handcrafted techniques, including traditional glassblowing and newer technologies. Through these works, Kandelin aims to demonstrate how old and new methods can complement each other and create a new aesthetic.

The booth will also display lighting, mirrors, and plant supports, all reflecting Kandelin’s design philosophy: everyday objects can be both functional and visually captivating. Plants play a central role in nearly all of her works, serving as a medium for interaction that invites viewers to pause and engage deeply with the objects.

”I’m inspired by plants and their ability to bring peace and beauty into everyday life. I want my objects to not only be functional but also inspire people to create beautiful and meaningful spaces with the help of plants,” Kandelin explains.

Visitors to the Habitare fair will also have a unique opportunity to purchase Kandelin’s plant supports and selected glass items directly from the booth. These pieces are a perfect blend of aesthetics and practicality, bringing a touch of Finnish design expertise into the home.
