Typically held outdoors, such as on the historic hill forts of Kernavė, the celebration features women weaving garlands from grass and flowers, along with lively dancing and singing. As night falls, participants set out to search for the elusive blooming fern, believed to grant wishes. This day also coincides with the name day of two of Lithuania’s most popular names – Jonas and Janina.
