Virtual pre-PulPaper created interest in next year’s themes

On Thursday 29 April, Virtual pre-PulPaper 2021 opened the themes of the forest industry’s leading international PulPaper 2022 event to be held at Messukeskus next year. The pre-event proved necessary and the event was followed by a huge number of professionals in the field.

Virtual pre-PulPaper provided a virtual meeting place for companies and professionals in the field. The event was attended by over 2 500 unique visitors. This year, we learned a lot about how to organise international online events and we will use what we have learned in the 2022 event. Recordings of the programme can be followed and the services of the participating companies can be viewed on the website until the end of May.

”Our industry needs forums to present new technology developments and exchange ideas. We are looking forward to meeting each other again in connection with PulPaper 2022 conference and exhibition next spring and meanwhile, it was important to organize this virtual event to remind how much progress and new business potential our industry continues to have, and how greatly the companies within forest-based bioeconomy can contribute to the more sustainable future of our globe, says Managing Director Antti Lindqvist of Forest Products Engineers. ”I am happy that we could build-up a very interesting showcase of top-level presentations in good cooperation with the partner companies and Messukeskus.”

Virtual pre-PulPaper consisted of six themes which were IT and Automation, Environment and sustainability, Safety and Risk Management, New Products from Biomass, Efficiency and Packaging Solutions. The PulPaper 2022 event will return to these themes.

In connection to the event, the annual meeting of the Forest Products Engineers was organised and the winner of the New Wood competition was announced. Both the competition and the public vote were won by UPM Biomedicals’ FibDex wound dressing made of nanocell, which speeds up wound healing and reduces pain experienced by the patient.

Next year we will meet face to face

The forest industry’s leading international PulPaper 2022 will be held at Messukeskus Helsinki 29-31 March 2022. The event is organized by Messukeskus in cooperation with the Forest Products Engineers. ChemBio Finland 2022 and Helsinki Chemicals Forum will also be organized at the same time at Messukeskus.
