Habitare Pro offers a new platform for professionals and opens doors to showrooms – partnering with Design District Helsinki
The Habitare Pro professional platform is becoming a stronger part of Habitare. This autumn, Habitare Pro includes an exhibition to be staged at Habitare, a topical programme with international speakers, and a new showroom event to take place in the centre of Helsinki. Habitare Pro will be held as part of Habitare from 13 to 15 September 2023.
The Habitare Pro professional platform, offered as part of Habitare, is growing, and this autumn, for the first time, it will have a presence in the centre of Helsinki. As part of Habitare Pro, a new showroom event will invite industry professionals and design lovers to explore the offerings of showrooms in the city, to network, and to enjoy the programme.
The official showroom partner of Habitare Pro is the brick-and-mortar design shop cluster Design District Helsinki, which will host a panel discussion at Habitare on Thursday 14 September at 16:00.
“Design District Helsinki is an advocate of our city’s brick-and-mortar business and an active promoter of urban culture. We are committed to strengthening Helsinki’s role as a design city, and the diversity of our members is key when talking about an appealing city centre. We will be bringing this current topic to the Habitare stage under the heading Design District Talk”, says the Executive Director of Design District Helsinki, Mia Saporito.
The professional platform will also include a space within the Habitare Ahead area, as well as a programme of speeches curated for professionals, which will, for example, highlight the theme of responsibility from the perspectives of material use and design quality.
On Wednesday 13 September at 14:00, Polestar will offer a discussion on How will sustainability shape the future?, with panellists Maria Klemetti Laine of NEMO architects; Håkan Nordin, Head of Sustainability at Bolon; and Maria Uggla, Head of Colours and Materials at Polestar. The panellists in the Design crimes and icons discussion, to be held on Thursday 14 September at 15:00, will be Tej Chauhan, Industrial Designer; Mirkku Kullberg, CEO at Paimio Sanatorium Foundation and CEO at Glasshouse Helsinki; and Antti Olin, CEO of the design company Made by Choice.
The moderator for both discussions will be Max Fraser, the Editorial Director of Dezeen, one of the world’s best-known architecture and design publications.
