Working at Messukeskus

It’s great to be at the centre of all the action

At first, I handled arrangements at Messukeskus and then worked as a doorman. After that, I moved on to a more responsible position as Hall Manager. The Hall Manager is always present when something is happening at Messukeskus. You need to be strict to ensure security, but you also need to have an eye for customer service. My working day can include exhibitions, corporate events, summits or even rock festivals. Variety and independence are definitely the best parts of this job. It’s hard to imagine a workplace that would be as interesting and peculiar as this! – Aapo, Hall Manager

Working with fairs is challenging and often great fun

My career path led me from being a trainee and part-time assistant to Exhibition Coordinator and Sales Manager. While I was working, I completed an Executive MBA programme, which helped me obtain my current position as Sales Team Manager. I have stayed at Messukeskus because of challenges, successes and continuous learning. To succeed, you must understand the big picture, take responsibility for results, and be able to assess opportunities and risks. My job is also fun and I’m full of drive! Throwing yourself into the work pays off, as it often leads to success. – Tanja, Sales Team Manager

From assistant to Marketing Manager

I started at Messukeskus as an assistant in B2B marketing, and was soon given more challenging tasks and moved on to Marketing Planner and Marketing Manager. I have worked with exhibitions and with meeting and congress marketing. My latest learning opportunity has been working to bring congresses and corporate events to Finland. In my job, I use a wide range of marketing channels from customer events to social media. Events are like pools of ideas for me, and they offer lots of opportunities for networking. – Kaisa, Marketing Manager
