Folk-pop came to life at Messukeskus Amfi
Swedish pop duo First Aid Kit has been conquering top arenas around the world on their world tour, from London’s Hammersmith Apollo to Berlin’s Columbiahalle and Stockholm’s Globen, to New York’s Radio City Music Hall. When the tour arrived in Finland, the chain of prestigious concert venues was joined by Messukeskus Amfi. Artemi Remes, the promoter at Fullsteam, was searching for a suitable space in Helsinki and remembered that even David Bowie and Ozzy Osbourne had performed at Messukeskus – so why not First Aid Kit!
Amfi offers space for both seated and standing audiences. The raised seating area can accommodate over 4000 listeners. The bar and restaurant services are conveniently located near the hall. Messukeskus is easy to reach from anywhere in Finland, and for many, it is already familiar from previous visits to trade fairs.
Remes’s intuition didn’t fail him – First Aid Kit’s acclaimed sound filled Messukeskus magnificently.
“The Amfi worked excellently as a concert venue, and we received positive feedback from both the artists and the audience. There are no other venues of this size in Helsinki, and both the location and services are perfect for concert use. We received support from Messukeskus’ event professionals in practical arrangements. The experience was so good that Amfi is already being considered for our future productions,” says Remes.
