The Habitare Selection 2024 – the best product, the best stand, and the most interesting phenomenon
The Habitare Selection 2024 was chosen on the opening day of the event in three categories. The best product, the best stand, and the most interesting phenomenon of the event were selected by graphic designer Tino Nyman, designer Fredrik Paulsen, and interior journalist Ulla Solasaari. The doors of Habitare 2024 are open at the Helsinki Messukeskus from September 11 to 15, 2024.
BEST STAND: Marimekko, 6d61
A simple, colorful and playful stand. It is smart to use only the product itself as the basic stand-element. There is also enough space to interact with people underneath the beautiful Marimekko fabrics.
BEST PRODUCT: Essis By Lasilinkki – Glass table, 6d31 ja 6b2
A new version of traditional elements. Here, old and new come together beautifully, creating a simple yet elegant product. The craftmanship of the glass is highly impressive. It’s also delightfully locally manufactured in Kuopio. The artisan glass table is crafted using layered flat glass fusing and designed in collaboration with Ulla Koskinen.
MOST INTERESTING PHENOMENON: Myceen – Carbon-negative materials combining mushroom mycelium and industrial byproducts, 6t49
A visually striking application of a new innovation. A creative and unique idea to replace the glue with mushroom in the products. This is a product that can truly make an impact with its highly sustainable manufacturing method.
