Welcome to Finland and Helsinki – now virtually and on site when it is safe to travel again

Finland is known as a reliable and functional host country for international congresses and events, and Finland has long been ranked among the 20 most popular congress countries in the world. Many come to Finland for the first time to attend a congress here – and then return for a vacation with their family or friends.

Although Helsinki Chemical Forum is organised virtually this time, all of Finland’s strengths as an event organiser are fulfilled: professional organisers, functional facilities and technique, punctuality and reliability and Finnish hospitality. In addition to diverse programme content, Helsinki Chemicals Forum provides an excellent platform for networking and building relationships, and it is worth using it as efficiently as possible. The event offers both information exchange and learning something new – as well as an opportunity to get to know Finnish colleagues and Finnish customs. Nature in particular is important to us Finns. We enjoy hiking in nature and admiring the scenery in all seasons. Because there is a lot of space and few people in Finland, we respect physical distance and own space. Honesty, punctuality and reliability are important virtues for us Finns. The sauna is also an important part of Finnish culture. There are up to three million saunas in Finland. For us sauna means relaxation from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and many Finns have a sauna bath several times a week. Finnish sauna tradition was inscribed on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in December 2020.

Helsinki is the most popular congress city in the Nordic countries. Additionally, it has been named the best city for combining work and leisure in an international comparison. Helsinki also wants to be the best city in the world that utilises digitalisation, also in tourism services. An interesting cultural heritage and innovative tourism services invite you to explore Helsinki in your free time. Doesn’t that sound appealing? We encourage you to get to know Helsinki and Finland virtually now and welcome everyone on site when it is safe to travel again.
