The year 2017 marks 100 years of Finnish independence. Messukeskus will bring the Finland 100 centenary year to its events, premises and restaurants. We will offer centenary benefits to our customers, a Finland-themed programme, special exhibitions, competitions, Finnish delicacies and the white and blue colours of Finland in our halls, Conference Centre and outside areas.

Matka Travel Fair
Finland will be extensively featured as a destination. We will also promote Finland’s national dishes and open the ‘Let’s eat together’ centenary year, alongside the ELO foundation. Finland will also be celebrated in Matka Party events and the rich offerings of the Suomi-lava (Finland stage) programme. What is more, the Chef of the Year semifinals would be nothing without Finland 100 spices!

Helsinki Book Fair
Language and stories have always lain at the heart of Finnish culture. In honour of the Finland 100 centenary, Finland will be the eleventh theme country of the book fair. Finnish writers, literature, Finnishness and Finnish history will form the focus in a number of ways.

The anniversary on our premises and in our services
Do you love the atmosphere of fairs? Messukeskus will bring joy to keen fair-goers with an annual ticket, which provides a one-time entry to all public events organised by Messukeskus. The annual ticket costs 100 euros and will be available from our online shop in early 2017.
Finland’s story is an account of an entrepreneurial people. The centenary has inspired us to add start-up areas to each of our events for professionals; these enable fair visitors to create networks and present new ideas cost-efficiently and effectively.
FINLAND meeting room
We will open the SUOMI (FINLAND) meeting room in honour of our 100-year-old country, its blue and white national colours, and unique culture. The 100-person meeting room is available by reservation for events being held in the centenary year of 2017. We will reflect Finland’s magnificent history in the decoration of our meeting rooms.
Messukeskus will dress up for the party. The magnificent white and blue colours of the centenary year will light up our entrance, providing a beautiful view across the streets and the surroundings of Messukeskus.
Finland Menu – Fazer
Fazer, Messukeskus’ restaurant services provider, is also an official Finland 100 partner, which will ensure that fair and conference guests’ tables are filled with delicious blue-and-white dishes. Our cafés will also provide traditional, Finnish delicacies.
